As formerly introduced, Javier Ferran has succeeded him as chairman.
Ferran mentioned: “Antonio was instrumental in the development and improvement of IAG and has led the board with integrity and rigour since the group’s formation in January 2011.
“He has created a massive contribution to IAG and, previously, in his job as president of Iberia.
“On behalf of the board, I’d like to thank Antonio for his determination and assistance and desire him effectively in the future.”
IAG is the father or mother business to airways like British Airways, Iberia, Aer Lingus and Vueling.
Vazquez said: “It’s been a terrific honour to guide IAG’s board.
“I would like to thank my board colleagues for their self confidence and help, and the IAG management and employees for their fantastic contribution each individual day as they develop our team.
