The airport stated staff shortages had still left them battling as the demand for international journey boosts.

Some passengers ended up caught on a aircraft for nearly an hour following it landed on Sunday.

Other travellers waited two hours to assert their baggage.

A spokesperson for Manchester Airport claimed: “We want to apologise to all buyers who have been impacted by queues just lately.
